Emergency Plan

After Storm Desmond washed away our bridge and left many of our houses flooded, we developed an emergency plan. This addressed how we will react in an emergency with the emphasis on flooding.

When Storm Arwen left half of our residents without power we adapted and updated the plan so that we are as prepared as possible in the event of any emergency in the parish.

Be prepared!

  • Read the Parish Council Emergency Plan (see link below).

  • Arrange with friends or neighbours that you will check on each others in an emergency.

  • Have some basic supplies ready - e.g. bottled water, dried fruit and nuts, protein bars and tinned food.

  • Have sleeping bags or blankets available.

  • Make sure you keep your mobile phone charged and that you have torches that work.

  • If you are elderly or vulnerable register to become a priority customer on-line. Help any elderly or vulnerable neighbours and friends if you can.
