Upper Kent Local Area Partnership
The Upper Kent Local Area Partnership (LAP) brings together parish representatives around the eastern side of Kendal from Kentmere in the north to Stainton in the south. It enables issues of common interest to the parishes to be pursued, potentially enabling them to have greater influence on services and decisions. The LAP meets four times a year, usually at Skelsmergh Village Hall.
Click here to read the most recent LAP report which focused mainly on the LAP profile, the recent Quality of Life survey and priorities for 2014 – 15.
Highways
The Upper Kent LAP is working with Cumbria Highways to improve the state of our roads. Periodically each parish in the LAP completes a schedule of minor concerns and repairs for the Better Highways team to address. These are updated from time to time as work is completed and new priorities emerge. The latest schedule from each parish can be viewed by clicking on the parish links below.
Major repairs are negotiated separately with Cumbria Highways so are not usually included in the schedule.
Members of the public are still able to report urgent highways matters through the Highways Hotline by phoning 0845 609 6099 or via the Highways web page www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-transport/highways-pavements/default.asp and click on ‘reporting a problem on the highway’ and follow the links.
